Monique is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a BA in Classical Piano and Opera Studies.  She also has a piano teaching and voice pedagogy certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada.  Monique has been teaching music for 9 years, privately and for the young musicians scholarship program with the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

Though Monique has a classical background, she writes and performs pop/synth music and has performed on the international stage at music and comedy festivals, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and San Francisco Sketch Fest.  Monique is currently developing a live comedy show which features improvised and pre-written musical comedy sketches which will go on tour in the summer of 2016.  She also regularly plays pop music and recognizable movie scores for the Art Deco Show at Post 43 of the American Legion.

Monique is passionate about creating a personalized musical curriculum and is seeking a teaching certificate from the Internationally accredited Music Development Program.
