Travis is a pianist and composer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and more recently based out of Boston. He holds a B.M. in Composition from The Boston Conservatory, and previously studied at the Wisconsin Conservatory, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Eastman School of Music.
After graduating in 2014, he worked for two years as a pianist and teacher in Boston, in addition to playing chamber music and composing. His music has been performed by the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Calliope, Soundry, SoundWave Milwaukee, and clarinetist Michael Norsworthy among others, and has been heard in Carnegie Hall, Austria, and Slovenia.
Travis is classically trained with extensive experience in musical theater and pop idioms. His teaching incorporates a range of subjects – ear training, theory, and improvisation – so that students can better understand and appreciate how the music they’re playing is created.
