Andrew Johnson is a passionate and precise guitarist well known in the Greater Philadelphia area. He has received his Bachelors of Art as a Classical Guitar Performance Major and Jazz Minor at West Chester University. While at WCU he studied under the guidance of Grammy Award Winning Guitarist David Cullen, who is a frequent guitarist at the Kimmel Center's Philly Pops. Andrew is now in LA to pursue a masters degree at CalArts and teach.
Mr. Johnson is a professional educator with a collective 6 years of experience teaching numerous genres of music such as classical, jazz, latin, funk, r&b and pop. Andrew has the ability to teach guitar, piano, bass, drums and ukulele to all age ranges. He believes that learning to play an Instrument helps build fundamental skills such as multitasking, discipline, focus, motivation, dedication and accountability. He has full confidence that whether you are a child, teenager or adult it can be a fun, thrilling and rewarding experience.
Andrew guides his lessons in a way that contributes to intrinsic motivation and student ownership of learning by providing choice and guidance in course of study. Flexible and dynamic curriculum built around the fundamentals of single-line melodies, chords and rhythm. He has earned his reputation amongst his students and parents as a patient, kind and personable teacher. Andrew strives to make each lesson challenging and enjoyable in a way that is fully focused on student-centered instruction.
Andrew is a percussionist, pianist, and engineer who performs and writes music primarily in pop, and electronic styles. He moved to Los Angeles following his studies at Capital University where he earned a Bachelor's of Music.
He is passionate about music and enjoys teaching with the goal of instilling a passion and appreciation in his students. Taking piano and drum lessons at a young age, Andrew eventually gravitated towards mallet percussion instruments. He often performs with various electronic MIDI percussion instruments including an electric xylophone and various synthesizers.
Combining his abilities as an instrumentalist and engineer, he produces and performs a wide variety of music from jazz to electronic dance music.c
Laura Bustillos began passionately studying music theory, voice, keyboard, and guitar lessons as a young child. She completed a BA in education, studied Music at Juilliard New York and Psychology with a 4.0 GPA that awarded her a top spot on the President's List. Her diverse musical background includes several shows with her band around the United States, Europe, Canada and South America with countless bands, as well as Disney pop artists. Laura has been instructing and coaching students privately, in workshops, and at different music schools for nearly 20 years. She self produced and wrote many albums, in which one was a part of the Grammy Awards. Passionately committed to coaching students from all ages, Laura enjoys guiding people to their maximum potential! Laura is an active member of the Recording Academy and her songs are part of several television shows, as well as a number of movies. Laura continues to surprise her clients with her extensive experience, studies and her true passion to teach not only music, but also multiple subjects as a life coach. Her goal is to continue lifting up students of all ages through a highly productive, inspiring and complete JOYFUL learning experience.
