Once a student is interested in taking lessons, a common question is, what kind of styles of music can a student learn? The short answer, is that any style is possible to learn. The long answer is contingent on some specific things such as the level the student is at, the student’s age, their experience level, and the ability of the teacher to introduce them to the different styles.
How much should a student practice each day?
How long does it take for a student to become proficient at the piano?
What's the most effective teaching method?
What can a student expect to learn in the first three months of lessons?
This is a great question! And one that I think parents of students are interested in knowing. In this very achievement-oriented society that we live in, it’s understandable to want to know how much a student could learn in the first three months of lessons. To be fair though, a student’s marker of accomplishments for music lessons is a very nuanced exercise.
